Quick Team Building Activities for Adults to Produce Superlative Results

Preparing your team to roll their sleeves up and get to work enthusiastically requires certain finesse. What could, under different circumstances, induce yawn (and a huge one at that!) in them, can in fact turn out to be a rewarding and gratifying experience, if the ‘grooming sessions’ are carried out well. Quick team building activities that serve as ice-breakers help your team to communicate better through proper interaction. Take a look at what can generate the interest you seek in your group members.

1. Acronyms for yourselves!

Each participant can choose a letter from the alphabet, and state any three characteristics of his personality using the chosen letter. E.g.: Calm, compassionate, congenial. The letters must be chosen randomly from a bowl – they don’t get to decide a letter themselves.

2. Happy days are here again!

Members can be asked to write down their favorite holiday destination. The notes can be passed around and other members should try guessing the name of the note’s author. They’ll be reminded of their holidays with most members having chosen the same destinations or a similar place. This will invariably spread smiles!

3. ‘Figure’-ing it out!

Ask one of the members to voluntarily come forward. A shape or a figure can be drawn on a paper and pinned to him. With his back facing the team, the member can now describe the figure to the rest of them, while they can try redrawing the figure on paper. A large variety of figures would appear, making the team grasp the importance of proper communication.

4. Grouping your way in!

Members can be invited to form groups, where each member has something common with the rest of the members. What should be taken care of is that they form groups according to their traits and what they know of their personalities. Passion, interests, hobbies, free-time activities, favorite book, actor, sport star etc. could be considered.

Team activities bring about unmatched and exceptional results when members work in harmony and co-operation. If you love the team you are working with, then the road ahead guarantees a lot more than just professional success!
